VNQ7040AY Quad-Channel High-Side Driver IC – 40mΩ Automotive Power Switch for Turn Signal & LED Lighting with MultiSense Analog Feedback
The VNQ7040AY is a quad-channel high-side driver IC, purpose-built for driving 12V automotive grounded loads in modern vehicle body control modules.
This advanced power switch is manufactured using the latest proprietary VIPower® technology and housed in a PowerSSO-36 package, delivering an ultra-low typical on-state resistance of just 40 mΩ per channel to minimize power dissipation and heat generation.
It supports a wide operating voltage range from 4V to 28V, with a maximum transient supply voltage of 41V, making it exceptionally robust against the voltage fluctuations common in harsh automotive environments.
The device integrates comprehensive protection features, including load current limitation with a typical 34A current limit, overload active management via power limitation, and overtemperature shutdown with configurable latch-off or auto-restart through the dedicated FaultRST pin.
For advanced diagnostics, the VNQ7040AY provides a dedicated MultiSense analog output pin. This pin delivers multiplexed feedback of high-precision proportional load current, supply voltage (VCC), and chip temperature, enabling real-time monitoring of load conditions.
The chip also supports detection of overload and short to ground, output short to VCC, and OFF-state open-load detection, ensuring comprehensive system health monitoring.
It features a dedicated LED Mode for channels 0 and 1, making it particularly well-suited for rear combination lamps that use LED technology.
The VNQ7040AY is compatible with 3V and 5V CMOS outputs for seamless direct connection to standard microcontrollers without additional level shifting.
