BTS5662E is a six-channel high-side smart power switch from the SPOC family, designed for advanced automotive light control applications . This SPI power controller integrates six high-side power stages, specially configured to drive standard exterior lighting such as tail lights, brake lights, parking lights, and indicators .

The power stages use N-channel vertical power MOSFETs with charge pumps, offering flexibility to drive lamps up to 3x27W + 2x10W + 5W across its six channels . It operates within a wide supply voltage of 5.5V to 28V and includes a separate logic supply for reliable control .

Configuration and status diagnosis are managed through an 8-bit SPI interface, which supports daisy chain configurations for multi-device systems . CMOS-compatible parallel input pins for each channel allow direct PWM operation, and the selectable AND/OR combination for parallel inputs provides flexible control strategies .

Comprehensive protective functions ensure system reliability in harsh automotive environments. These include short-circuit protection, overload protection, multi-step current limitation, thermal shutdown with latch, overvoltage protection, and loss of ground protection . A fail-safe limp-home input pin provides critical backup functionality in case of system failure .

Diagnostic capabilities include a multiplexed proportional load current sense signal (IS) that can be enabled via SPI, along with over-temperature and overload feedback . The device is AEC qualified, ensuring suitability for automotive applications, and operates across a temperature range from -40°C to 150°C .
