L9369 Dual H-Bridge Gate Driver IC for Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and ABS Control Systems
The L9369 is an advanced automotive gate driver IC specifically developed for electric parking brake (EPB) applications, making it an ideal solution for cable-puller or Motor Gear Unit (MGU) system configurations.
This device integrates two complete H-bridge driver stages designed to drive up to eight external power MOSFETs for rear wheel brake actuators. These stages are fully configurable via the high-speed 32-bit SPI interface, supporting PWM control modes with comprehensive protection features including overcurrent protection and real-time drain-source/gate-source voltage monitoring.
For precise motor control, the L9369 incorporates 10 integrated fully differential amplifiers with low offset and programmable gain, working alongside 10 dedicated ADC channels and sigma-delta modulators for synchronized motor voltage and current acquisition. This enables accurate feedback for closed-loop brake actuation control.
The device also provides flexible I/O options, including 4 configurable HS/LS stages with programmable output voltage for LED array driving, 4 general-purpose I/O pins, and 2 motor speed sensor (MSS) interfaces for external Hall sensor input. The integrated button interface supports EPB console monitoring in both Normal and Sleep modes, while the programmable watchdog and system wake-up capability ensure robust system supervision.
Safety and reliability are core features: the L9369 is AEC-Q100 qualified and complies with the ISO26262 functional safety concept. It operates from a 5.5V battery input and supports continuous BIST for internal regulators. The device is housed in a compact 64-pin LQFP package and operates across a -40°C to 175°C temperature range, making it suitable for harsh under-hood environments.
